Organised on 8-10 February, NA RYBY Angling Equipment Trade Fair and AQUAZOO Aquarium Fish, Plants and Accessories Exhibition attracted 30 percent more visitors than last year's editions. Poznań welcomed 10,800 angling and fishkeeping enthusiasts.

The first day, traditionally reserved for traders, turned out to be very successful. Nearly 900 owners and employees of retail and wholesale businesses had a chance to establish direct contacts with producers and importers, and discuss issues of key importance to the whole sector.

Everyone - even the most demanding angling lovers - could find something for themselves among the offers presented by exhibitors. Next to a rich selection of angling rods (including spinning rods several metres long), reels, floats, baits and lures, a wide variety of new clothes and floating equipment was showcased too. Companies presented attractive predatory fish baits and marine fishing equipment.

NA RYBY trade fair was enriched by numerous meetings with famous anglers, film shows and competitions. Another undeniable attraction of this edition was a visit by a multiple float fishing world champion. The conference room in which Sir Bob Nudd unravelled the mysteries behind his spectacular successes was bursting at the seams.

Further highlights of the programme included a meeting with the editors of Wędkarski Świat magazine, and film shows organised by the editors of Wędkarstwo Moje Hobby magazine. Many visitors attended the discussion panel prepared by the editors of Karp Max magazine. Renowned Polish carp anglers - Zbigniew Hukałowicz, Hadrian Radziejewski and Przemysław Mroczek - talked about their fishing experiences in France and the US.

The casting for an angling-related film, organised by Wędkarstwo Moje Hobby magazine, also enjoyed considerable interest and was eventually won by a lady. The winner of the competition for the best advertising slogan promoting Wędkarstwo Moje Hobby magazine will go fishing to Hitra island in Norway.

On Sunday, an auction of angling equipment was held whose proceeds will go towards stocking Polish rivers and supporting the Polish team competing in the 10th World Freshwater Fishing Championships for Disabled.

Some of the weekend events were addressed at the youngest angling fans. Kogata and Wojciech Werniccy, the columnists of Wiadomości Wędkarskie, organised interesting games and competitions with prizes. Besides quizzes, crosswords and puzzles, the "Talent Hunters" prepared a training for children, focusing on floats.

More attractions awaited visitors who admired the impressive fishkeeping show held as part of the first AQUAZOO Aquarium Fish, Plants and Accessories Exhibition. Numerous professionally set-up aquarium tanks contained beautiful specimens of fish and unique underwater flora.
